crafts: craft cart reveal

so here is the post i did over at not so homemade.

sometime in february i got this cart for FREE!! i love free stuff, don't you?!

anywho, i took my sweet time (about 6 weeks!) figuring out what to do with it, and came up with this...

see that ugly blue and those gold wheels? yuck.

i primed the cart first.

then sprayed it with blue ocean breeze (my new spray paint addiction).

next it was time for those wheels to get a little makeover. i used basic black spray paint on those babies!

i could've stopped there but i wanted a little more pizzaz!

so i bought this great black and white striped fabric.

i sewed a ribbon in coordinating colors to hide the raw edges at the bottom.

then i used hot glue and felt to add some pink strings to tie up the panels.

here's a pic of the finished panel down.

and here's my cart all loaded up with crafty stuff and fabric!

i loved doing this project and once i got started it didn't take me too long to finish. maybe four hours total and since the cart was free and i had the spray paint i only spent about $20.

free christmas printables!!!

i printed these lovelies off the other day for some more christmas crafty goodness. i'm not going to picture those finished projects yet though, because they're part of the christmas decor that's up and i don't want to give it away!!

all were downloaded for free and i printed them at target...cost less than 10 for all 6!

the first two are from craftily ever after and the other four are from mine for the making!

today i'm thankful for crafty blogs! i have a list of about twenty crafts that i want to do for thanksgiving and christmas, now if only i can find the time and money to do them all!

what is a billion?

so i love this blog, a cup of jo. she's fab and has so many interesting posts that just make my day. here's her post from early this morning.

This is what she had to say...

"This weekend, my brother Nick emailed my twin sister and me to congratulate us for reaching exactly one billion seconds! A billion seconds, he told us, equals 31 years, 259 days, 1 hour, 46 minutes and 40 seconds. I love how, true to form, Nick adjusted for daylight savings, leap years and time zones. :)"

side note: how creative is her brother? i would have never thought of this but it really puts things in perspective when you're thinking about time!
