mini vacay

here's some pics from our mini vacation to the lake this past weekend.

i think someone was getting a little delirious at this point on the way home. i'm not even going to attempt to explain this one!

we had a great, easy and relaxing weekend. hopefully we'll go again at least once before summer is officially over. although, i wouldn't mind if summer, or rather the heat, was officially over!

vacay: day 4

sunday we were up at 4 am and back at home in lexington by 2 pm. it was a long travel day but i was glad to be back and getting in the swing of normal life again.

we had a great time with fam and friends and i can't wait to go back!

i want to give a special thanks to my mom for coming down to austin saturday so i could see her and greg and schwab and brinks!

i also want to thank my aunt myra for putting on the best birthday party for lew and allowing us to come visit. and for being sooooooo excited that we were coming in town!

i want to thank my grandparents for lunch on friday and spending time with us while were there.

and a big big thanks goes to sherry for being a fab host, taking us to dinner, providing breakfast and cookie cake and showing us around. you're the best and i love you so much!

and last but not least thanks to trav for taking us on a great trip, i love you so much!

josh's concert

you didn't think i was going to let you miss the concert of the weekend did you? never.

i love listening to baby bro sing and play the guitar (well any instrument, really) and having sherry sing back up was just icing on the cake. these two will def be singing at my wedding one day. :)

vacay: day 3

saturday we had plans to go to breakfast at the mad hatter but those were thwarted when we discovered sherry's cats had tape worms...long story! but we ended up getting up and heading to austin early.

vacay: day 2

day two started off great because we got to sleep in while sherry worked a half day! then we met grandma and grandpa and myra at grumpy's for lunch and then shopping at bracken village.

now, one thing about grumpy's...it's ah. maz. ing. for reals. i love this place. and the portions are huge. in fact myra was a little late in meeting us and didn't even order her own meal because we all had so much food to share!

and let me share a little about bracken village...i love to shop here. my fav store in the whole world is there, bless your heart! this store has so much from jewelry to home decor and clothing. i love everything in there! here are some of the cutey things there!

bought these cute owl plates with sherry. we split the four pack and i love him on the stove as a spoon rest!

later friday night we went to dinner at the yard house bar. it was yum yum. however watching the rangers lose that night was a bum bum!

after dinner we went back to sherry's for some beer and early bed so we could get to austin the next morning...stay tuned for the awesomeness of lew's birthday party in austin on day three of our vacay!

vacay: day 1

nothing out of the ordinary happened on our trip down there. thank goodness. i don't mind traveling or planes but i like everything to go as smoothly as possible!

it was mine and trav's first time flying together and we had a lot of fun talking and falling asleep on each other in the air!

well we made it to san antonio thursday evening. i was so excited to see sherry's smiling face as she pulled up to the curb at the airport.

we made a stop for dinner at papasitos. yummy mexican food and just as spicy as i remember!

then sherry took us on a little tour of the usaa campus. she loves her job there and basically sold travis on working there too. :)

after seeing a bobcat and lots of deer, we headed back to sherry's apartment for some beer and a surprise cookie cake. yummy!

we turned in a little while later, after catching up and girl talk.

i'd say our first airplane trip was a success and we can't wait to do it again. look for day too tomorrow!

p.s. sorry no real pics today but there are tons and even some video for the other days!

texas bound

in t-minus 23 days!

trav and i will be flying out of louisville on thursday october 14th and spending three glorious days in san antonio!

i can't wait to be back in the lone star state.

we're going to be really busy with looking at schools, sight seeing, lew's birthday party, visiting fam and just trying to get a feel for the city.

who knows what other kind of trouble we can get in to?!

Chicago 2010

so let me start by saying that we had a great time in chicago!

we were only there for a short time but we got in A LOT of fun stuff.

we got in a bit of traffic on 64 so i veered off and took the scenic route down 60, stopped to take a pic of the state capital.

this wall is full of hot sauce. heaven on seven is a great cajun place and it was our last stop in chicago.

this trav at the end of our three day vacay! he was so tired. what will he do if we ever have enough time off of work to be gone for a week?!
