whimsy bits: little bits

it's been a while since i've shown things i've made for the whimsy bits shop.

not only did i make these for the girls but i also sold a few from the shop!

pretty easy to make and oh so cute! the girls love them and the turtlenecks work well for the winter. too bad they won't be able to wear them next year. i hate it when they have to get bigger and grow up!

whimsy bits: birthday tees

last weekend i made a couple of state tees for my little cousin, bennett. she's turning two later this month and along with her mommy and daddy will be moving to arizona soon.

i wanted to make her a shirt with kentucky appliqued on (and put a little something on the city she's lives in now) and then just decided to try something new and make her an arizona shirt as well.

on the arizona tee i tried a reverse applique. i had never done this before but it turned out so nicely and was actually very easy to do.

i thought kentucky would be hard to applique but i just took my time and it came out so nice. best applique i've ever done! and since they're from louisville, i appliqued a little pink heart where the city is located.

i loved making these tees and they were super affordable and only took about an hour for me to do both from beginning to end! i'll be doing more of these for sure. thinking of adding them to my etsy shop in the little bits section. what do you think?

i made these necklaces for my aunt and grandma for their birthdays. i really hope they love them!

sherry loves owls just like me (duh)! so only an owl necklace would do!

grandma's necklace is on a long silver chain and has three charms on it.

close up (sorry for the terrible pic). the disc says family and there's a dove charm with a twig in it's beak (gm loves noah's ark) and then a pic of the two of us.

whimsy bits: chain necklace

this was an easy make. i made it for barclay but i'm sooo making one for myself too.

i got this great big 'ol bag of ribbon at hobby lobby for 1.99 plus 40% off (so that's only $1.20 my friends!)

it's hard to tell (because all my pics are weak and i need good camera. any volunteers?!) but the ribbon is a neon green, and awesome.

you just weave in and out until you get to the end and use the ends to tie a pretty bow. barclay wanted hers just like this but it would be so easy to add flowers to these.

these are by far my fav thing i've made.

this was a birthday present for holly. i think she loved it! i sure do.

this fabric is so me! it's got bright colors and i put it on pink rope-like ribbon.

here are some recent whimsy bit projects...

made this americana themed bag for grandma pfau!

and i was just playing around with letters and put dallas' name on his overnight bag. yes, the dog has his own "suitcase" of some sort. but he has to have something to carry all his stuff in when we go out of town or he's at the kennel! lord knows, i'm not sharing my bag!

not perfect yet but i still love both projects!

Hoot n' Nanny

i gave the girls their shirts today...

obviously liv loved it and lilly was indifferent! liv said "thank you achely, i love it!". she then grabbed her shirt and said "hello mr. owl. hoot, hoot mr owl." she was so cute and so appreciate. like i've said before she's one of the most polite little girls i've ever met!

we did a lot of playing outside today and liv loves being outside. her favorite is swinging.

"i say cheese!"

olivia also has a bad habit of twisting her hair when she sleeps. it's kind of a pain but it's so funny when she gets up and says "uh oh, i have a knot." so i get it out and fix her hair up all cute, mostly in piggy tales!

lilly is getting so close to rolling over, we can taste it! i'm going to have my video on my phone ready every day! today i took some video of her and she got so close but no cigar yet :)
