christmas craft #12

painted christmas trees

i found these paper christmas trees at hobby lobby for 50% off and decided i'd love to paint them!

what you'll need:
tree form
white, red and green acrylic paint (or colors of your choice)
sponge brushes (a circular one if you're not the greatest at making circles, like me!)

i had to do two coats on these to cover them all the way

i got two different sizes

here's the finished product. not perfect put i still love them and have since added them to my decor!

update: home decor

i've got some new things around the house to show you...

bought this fork and spoon set at hobby lobby. the best part is they were 50% of so it was like getting one for free! i love love them in the dinning room.

the next few items are from ikea. travis and i took an impromptu trip up to cincinnati today and bought a few things. i love their stuff because it's cheap and modern. and we love the mac and cheese there!

this mag rack was $9.99 and i love the pops of color from the mags coming through.

i was dying to redo my bedroom (i know, already?) but i decided to go with cute (and cheap!) new bedding. this duvet set and decorative pillows cost me $26!

close up of the patterns. even trav thought it was "cute"!

i also finally got a second night stand to match the one i bought back in april. it's sitting by dal's recliner and holds a basket with his "stuff".

round 1

so i went and got all my supplies for my new business!

i love hobby lobby by the way! i bought some cute gingham and polka dots for girl stuff and some argyle and seersucker for the boys.

i came home and made my patterns and then went to town appliquéing!

here are my first four products. all onesies. an owl {for lilly}, a whale, a bird and a tie!

love love love them.

tomorrow i'll be doing toddler tees. i'm making olivia an owl as well and kalli a puppy! i'm also going to be looking for some solid color tees and onesies. i have so much fabric so i'll stick with these for now but i'll always be looking for more.

here are the close-ups...

birdie

tie
lilly's owl {i also made my own little tag but it's still a work in progress!}

whale {water spray included!}

i also used a couple buttons and love the look of them. i just can't wait to make more and hopefully start selling them!
