ok, i love christmas. seriously i do. and it makes me all emotional and weepy for no reason sometimes. but if you can listen to this song without crying or at the very least tearing up...well the you're not human. you soulless person, you.

i love it but hate it at the same time. there's just no reason for a song to come on mix-mas 400 times a day that will make your mascara run and have the four year old in the backseat ask you what the heck your crying about. you heartless four year old!

as we all know (or you should at least!), this month is breast cancer awareness month.

saturday night during a bout of insomnia i watched the movie Five on lifetime. it's an amazing collection of five short films directed by some amazing women in hollywood. and the actors in the films? amazing!

i would encourage everyone to watch this. it was eye opening and has made me realize that no one is invincible from breast cancer.

FYI you will need tissues. seriously. i balled like a baby. in a good way.

friday's fabulousness

1. great strides walk for cystic fibrosis is tomorrow!!! yay, i can't wait to see all the people come out and walk and to hear the final tally of how much was raised this year!

2. trav has to work saturday and sunday night (not fabulous) which means that i'll be sewing and crafting a ton (fabulous!).

3. this movie looks hilarious and i can't wait to see if with my gurlllls!

4. i'm going shopping for shorts and jeans because i dropped another pant size people! whoohoo!

5. planning our memorial day lake trip with the schwab. i can't wait to get on the boat and see the fam. so thankful that we can both go this year but we'll miss travis since he'll be making overtime at work.

were you watching last night?

i love the oscars for so many reasons. mainly for the red carpet but especially when there are a lot of high quality films up for so many awards. and the academy sure didn't disappoint this year!

let's start with my fav picks on the red carpet.

um, hello. do you not already know how much i love gwenyth? i loved when the asked her who she'd love to work with and she said, "Jay Z". it was a total white girl moment!

i love me some javier bardem. who wouldn't? those spaniard good looks. that accent. maybe he's why i majored in spanish ;)

sandra was a beauty last night, as usual. i can't even believe where she was a year ago. great comeback night for her. i loved her presenting the award for best actor too. she called jeff bridges dude!

jesse eisenberg was great in the social network. i thought maybe he was only like that in the movie but i think he might be a real life ass. just saying. or maybe he's just a little awkward and doesn't know how to handle the stardom yet?

this was my fav dress last night. mila kunis is a beauty and this dress was stunning on her.

on to the show...

i think james and anne did a pretty good job. my fav joke of the night was when james was in a hot pink gown and made a joke about charlie sheen. i think anne is a natural borne comedienne. but i miss the days of billy crystal. the dancing, the singing, the huge production. that was the great stuff!

hello? you're at the oscars melissa. we don't say the f word. i'm glad she won though.

my two favs won. everyone knew they would. i especially love when they thank their family, more specifically their spouses or significant others. they both did so lovingly and they were so eloquent and heartfelt. they both truly deserved the win for their roles. plus who wouldn't love to say to their kid one day, "i won this oscar when i was pregnant with you. you were on the oscar stage with me!" that would be so awesome. so would being either one of their children, duh. (don't worry mom i'm not vying for a celeb parent, you're still the best mommy ever!)

and here was the highlight of the show for me...
