as mentioned on my friday's fabulousness last week, T and i were super excited (and beyond blessed!) to have an engagement party thrown for us by my wonderful aunt and uncle in louisville. i thought i'd share some of my fav pics of the night!

it really was such a great night. most of our friends and family made great efforts to be there. some came from far, new york and colorado and some not too far but they were all there for the two of us and we couldn't be for thankful.

of course it wouldn't have been such a great night without my aunt and uncle (and sweet b) who put everything together and said some very sweet things about the T and i.

we had a great time and by the feel of my hangover the next day, i'd say the wedding won't be anything less!

today i'm celebrating my best friend in the whole world! she's seriously the best ever and i'm so thankful for her. want to know why? here are my top ten reasons i'm thankful for this beautiful friend of mine...

10. she's never judged me. ever.

9. she made me the maid of honor in her wedding and i'm returning the favor by making her my matron of honor.

8. she can't (or maybe just won't) decorate anything which allows me to step in and do it for her. not like i need another reason to decorate anything!

7. we can talk about things like poop, boogers, farts, periods, boobies and the such. TMI?

6. we LOVE to make fun of the same people/things.

5. she always knows what i'm thinking. i don't even have to say it out loud.

4. our love of stupid ABCfamily shows, friends, glee and ella enchanted.

3. she calls me for fashion advice. which makes me feel super cool. thanks j.

2. that little nugget she's cooking up. i'm gonna love that thing no matter what it is. boy. girl. cat. dog. ET. gremlin. no matter what.

1. she's seriously the kindest, most caring friend i've ever had. she's been through so much with me over the last 6 (or maybe 7?) years. always there with no agenda of her own. loving me no matter the cost.

isaiah and sarah's wedding

this past weekend travis and i attended the wedding of our good friends isaiah and sarah. this was a special one, as we both know them and travis was actually in the wedding!

here he is right before his ushering duties...maybe a little nervous?!

travis got the honor of walking sarah's grandmother down to her seat.

i love watching the groom during the beginning of any wedding ceremony. they either look scared to death or have a big happy grin. isaiah had the latter! :)

trav of course got in some great dance moves with the bride at the reception.

the wedding and reception both were beautiful, as was the couple. we love sarah and isaiah and can't wait to watch them in their new life as husband and wife!

catching up

did you miss me?

i mean, you probably didn't even know i was gone for almost a week. unless you're my mother or grandma, then you probably did notice!

well, the move went well and we're all settling in nicely. dallas loves the new place because we have two sets of stairs and man oh man, does that dog love him some stairs. it's weird, he's weird.

i'll post pics of the new place soon. we're pretty much finished except for a few finishing details. but i know me and me doesn't want to show the goods until they're as perfect as possible!

so, instead of house pics lets catch up on the last week...

1. moving sucks. having a new place to live is awesome. unpacking sucks. buying new stuff is awesome. spending a whole bunch of money sucks. getting housewarming gifts is awesome. losing your bff as a roommate sucks. getting a new one is awesome ;). a broken washer sucks. having a garage is awesome.

2. i have an awesome brother. he literally hung up 6 curtain rods, a shelf (very heavy shelf) and carried more crap up two flights of stairs just because i needed help and he loves his sisterly.

3. barclay moved to bowling green. tear. i'll miss her so much!

4. the royal wedding made me an emotional wreck. seriously? why do weddings do that to me? i mean, i know i'm a princess and all (even if it's only in my head) but i felt legitimately jealous of princess catherine. then of course i snapped out of it because when i get married i don't want thousands of people there and millions watching on tv. and while it was gorgeous and over the top, i didn't think it was that personal and intimate setting i'd love to have at my own wedding. with that being said, if prince william (or even harry for that matter) had asked me to marry him, i would have, without a second thought, said yes. sorry trav.

5. travis graduated saturday. he finally has his MBA and i couldn't be any prouder! he worked so hard and now hows the proof. now he's studying for the nursing home admin test and hopefully after that no more studying or test taking for that boy. ever. again.

nutcracker

last weekend, barclay and i headed to louisville for christmas with jennifer and my family.

we started off at target, walking around each of us trying to find a gift for $20. i would recommend shopping together for any friends, it was so much fun! and it really put the pressure on you :) i ended up with a food chopper!

then we had lunch at jason's deli and scooted over to iceland for the nutcracker on ice!

barclay's cousin, ashton, is a ice skater and her group performed the nutcracker for the 7th year. it was great! i've never seen anything on ice and i love the nutcracker, so it was a perfect combo!

there were older people and little bitties on the ice and they were all so good!

then we headed to grandma and grandpa's house for some presents (they did so good giving me old family pics and an album and picture box!!) and chit chat.

then we had dinner with dad and the fam at outback and went back to their house for some more presents!

it was a great weekend and an early start to the christmas celebration!

today i'm thankful for my best friend jennifer!

and today is also her 25th birthday!!!!!

this is my fav pic of us. we were having so much fun this night at a date party for AOII. we became friends through the sorority and it didn't take long for me to figure out that she would for sure be one of my forever friends!

this was at josh's birthday dinner a few years ago.

jennifer has helped me through so much over the last six years, i can't even begin to thank her! we've seen each other through thick and thin and we still love each other!

this is from her bachelorette party in may. we had a great time that night! i still can't believe you're all married now!

i love you so much puckett, uh, i mean honadel...that just doesn't sound right! so glad you're my friend. and even more glad that you continue to be, even though you know so, so much!

so friday was travis' last night here in lexington. we were able to spend part of the afternoon together and then went to dinner with friends at a german restaurant.

weekend wrap-up

this weekend was packed full of activities.

friday night travis and i had a much needed date night. dinner at carinos and then out for drinks at harry's and drakes with our friends, isaiah and sarah. good times!

saturday we drove to louisville. first up was lunch with my bestie, jennifer. we went to mccalister's and i just love their sweet tea! we also got to see her cute new puppy!

this makes me want another one!

we also went to dinner with dad and the fam for jordan's birthday. got her a cute little dress and some mood nail polish and she loved it! it was a long day of driving and visiting but well worth it! we drove home and just relaxed the rest of the night.

today i ran a bunch of errands with barclay and got to see josh. and we took dallas to the dog park. he just loves that place!

all in all a great weekend. and tomorrow is back to work!

weekend recap

this weekend was so much fun!

mom and greg were in town and we met them in louisville at the bats baseball game with grandpa and glenda. afterwards we went to 4th street and had a few drinks.

saturday was errand/shopping/cleaning day for me. plus dal came back from the kennel so it was a good hangout night. i cleaned the apartment like crazy for the fam's visit sunday.

sunday trav and i headed to lunch with the fam. josh served us at friday's and then they came over to have a lookey at the house. i love showing off where i live because i'm so proud of our place.

sunday night was isaiah and sarah's engagement party. it was so nice to meet their families and celebrate the two of them. there was food and games and laughter all night! and trav is going to be an usher at the wedding so he was is so excited to be a part of their big day next june.

hello again!

sorry i've been m.i.a lately.

as it turns out july has been a crazy month thus far and is only expected to get busier.

so here's what i'm currently thinking about.

fav things right about now:

she & him has been on repeat in the car, on the ipod and pretty much any place else i can listen. love them!

i'm pretty much going to buy everything from here from now on.

love that she's in jail. don't really know why but it makes me happy that she's doing her time.

i might be obsessed with the palin clan. i can't help but be intrigued with bristol and levi getting engaged and sarah not being ok with it. so taboo now a days to marry your baby's daddy!

have you seen covert affairs on usa yet? it's my new fav show for summer. love it and the cia {a little!}.

other things i'm currently loving:

buying a sewing machine this weekend.

i get to see my momma in less than two weeks.

louisville bats baseball game.

visiting with grandpa doug and glenda.

august is coming! which means mom's birthday, killian's birthday, lake weekend with trav, highway 127 yard sale, olivia starts preschool, and sarah's bachelorette party. just to name a few things!

things i'm currently hating:

the rain, rain, rain.

immaturity.

not getting more than five hours of sleep every night.

my love of mexican food {it's really not helping with the ww}.

things that don't work or break on you.

poopy diapers.
