now that most of the big stuff is taken care of, i need to start thinking about jewelry.

because of the neckline on my gown, i won't be wearing a necklace. my plan is to wear some dangly statement earrings instead.

when i was in dallas, my mom hosted a wonderful shower for me at the most rustic restaurant. right up my alley!

about 15 of us gathered at the whiskey cake for lunch and, of course, whiskey cake. there were also presents and chit-chat!

i've jetted off to dallas today.

yes, i'm a woman of travel and leisure for the next five days!

i can't wait to relax with my momma and some of my most fav women in the world.

this trip is also to celebrate mine and T's upcoming nuptials with a shower on saturday. so in honor of that i'm going to recap what's been going on in the wedding planner world of the future jacobs'.

last we checked in i was thinking about flowers. wow, we're still thinking about those but we have done a lot of other things...


first, we sent out our save the dates in early april. here's how they turned out...

we love the way they turned out. i had them custom made from an etsy shop and then printed at vistaprint. way, way cheaper this way. i bet we saved 500 bucks doing it ourselves.

let's see, we've also settled on everyones attire. i ordered my dress. the decor has been purchased. favors have been made (thanks jillian!). cake topper is in. menus have been set. the flower girls is practicing. getting gifts (thank you, thank you!). got my something blue and new! (thanks katie!). and we're feeling the pressure!

so...what's left to do?

order the suits. finish gifts for people involved in the wedding. order the flowers. pick out the music must haves. settle on must have photos. showers. bachelor/bachelorette parties. all the little things.

are we excited? yes.

are we overwhelmed? kinda.

are we ready to be married? you betcha!

we had our engagement photo session two weeks ago.

it was gorgeous outside.

the sun was shinning.

80 degrees.

slight breeze.

we drove out to keeneland with the dog and met our photographer Tracy D.

so many things to do. so many in fact that i'm forgetting them all the time. i can't keep up with the list. or really lists, because i'll loose the one i made yesterday and start a new one today and then the cycle repeats.

who knew getting married took so much work?

really it's not the getting married part that's hard. it's the wedding planning part! the getting married part is easy..."i do." done and done.

• finish picking out ceremony music. so excited for the songs we do have but we need one or two more.

there's so much more but i won't overwhelm y'all! i think i'll just check one thing off everyday. and somethings just can't be dealt with until we get closer to the big day. i'll take solace in that :)!

as mentioned on my friday's fabulousness last week, T and i were super excited (and beyond blessed!) to have an engagement party thrown for us by my wonderful aunt and uncle in louisville. i thought i'd share some of my fav pics of the night!

it really was such a great night. most of our friends and family made great efforts to be there. some came from far, new york and colorado and some not too far but they were all there for the two of us and we couldn't be for thankful.

of course it wouldn't have been such a great night without my aunt and uncle (and sweet b) who put everything together and said some very sweet things about the T and i.

we had a great time and by the feel of my hangover the next day, i'd say the wedding won't be anything less!
