what to do?

i have to make a big decision.

the kind of decision that changes your life.

like, a major life altering, kick you in the gut, change your life for the better or worse, make you pee your pants thinking about it decision.

what to do?

barclay's birthday weekend.

barclay's birthday was sunday but we started celebrating early.

friday, the two of us went shopping after work and ate some dinner together.

saturday we went to the farmer's market and ate lunch at this adorable bakery, magees. then we ran errands and went to a late dinner at raggata and went out to hugos for drinks and dancing.

sunday we went to brunch at dudley's downtown {so good! i even ate squash in my frittata. shocking!}. jennifer drove in from louisville to eat with us and it was so much fun chit-chatting over mimosas.

thursday night trav, barcs and i went to the legends game. they won and we had dollar beers and hotdogs!

it's nice to know...

that i can in fact save a life.

case in point:

olivia had her first swim lesson yesterday. she refused to go with the instructor and stayed by my side the entire time. as she got a little more time to relax she became a little more brave and started to make her way down the steps in the shallow end. then....

she let go of my hand and jumped head first into the pool.

needless to say i jumped in and grabbed her by the foot, seeing as though we are at swim lessons because she does not know how to swim by herself, yet.

next time i'll bring my suit!

Chicago 2010

so let me start by saying that we had a great time in chicago!

we were only there for a short time but we got in A LOT of fun stuff.

so come take a tour of our trip with pics!

we got in a bit of traffic on 64 so i veered off and took the scenic route down 60, stopped to take a pic of the state capital.

this wall is full of hot sauce. heaven on seven is a great cajun place and it was our last stop in chicago.

this trav at the end of our three day vacay! he was so tired. what will he do if we ever have enough time off of work to be gone for a week?!

barclay and i decided we need to recycle and do our part to help the planet.

thus, we now have two trash cans. the one on the left is trash. the one on the right is recyclables. the other stuff is dallas' bowls and food. i swear it kinda looks like trailer trash around here. but we're helping the earth so it's worth it, right?!

so if you remember, when we went to dallas for mom and greg's wedding, i had everyone do a gangsta face.

tonight i made some chocolate croissants. courtesy of my friend from high school, shelby's blog.

her pics are much better than mine! but i'm sure these taste just as delish.

since i'm doing ww, i used reduced fat pillsbury crescent rolls but i used the good ole real nutella!

at 5 points i won't be eating a ton of these but i think it's a tasty treat i can indulge in every once in awhile!

on a side note dallas loves nutella just as much as i do...

near death?

explanation:

yesterday josh, travis and i headed to the driving range to hit some golf balls. i will admit that it's been awhile since i've hit some but i was doing pretty well and having a good time.

about 30 to 45 minutes into our outing, i began feeling dizzy, ringing in the ears, nauseas and just not "right". automatically i knew i was going to pass out. this happens from time to time due to vasovagal syncope. i'm used to it and most times if i sit or lay down i can stop it from happening. BUT this time i couldn't and so i passed out at the driving range.

according to trav, i actually had a mild heat stroke or seizure. i was also foaming at the mouth a little. good thing he was there. people were rushing over to me and he got everyone to back up and then quickly elevated my head and used cold water to bring my body temp down. thank GOD he's an EMT.

we were all a little shaken up after that. like i said i'm used to this, but it's never happened to me in public so i was quite embarrassed. trav has also never seen that happen so he was scared for me and we were both a little emotional after that!

but, i'm fine now and everything feels better! scary day but we're all ok and don't worry i'm not going to give up golf just because of this...i was kicking the boys' butts!

just thought you'd like to know what happened.

p.s. i clearly have the best boyfriend in the world and now, seeing his medical skills personally i have never been more sure of how safe i am with him around. love you trav!

down home saturday night

tonight was date night at home. we decided to make a ww pizza recipe i found online and it was super delicious! look at trav chop those peppers and onions :)

we also took dal out to play ball and he's beyond exhausted!

now we're going to watch a movie and try to relax. good saturday night if you ask me!

p.s. check out this bad boy i pulled out of the silverware drawer. could've done some damage with this one!
