i was woken up by dal saying "happy birthday mom!", apparently he didn't think that i might want to sleep in today but that's ok! :)

today for about 35 minutes the world was still and i felt like myself only five years ago.

i got to catch up with my amazing friend bekah.

we haven't talked in about a month or so and therefore, it was time!

i miss her like crazy and now that she's in colorado life is changing and the Lord is doing amazing things there.

so glad to hear about your lovely life and how blessed you are! :)

i'm really hoping travis follows through with his promise to take me there in march so we can visit in person.

What do I want?

That question has been running through my head for a very long time now.

What do I want?

I envy people who know exactly what they want. How is it that you can be so lucky? Did you do something I didn't? Do you have more discipline? Are you more ambitious?

What happened to me? When did I become this person instead of who I wanted to be?

It's funny how many times in life we change. Like when you're three and you want to be a mommy. When you're in kindergarten you want to be what your daddy is. Then it's a doctor, a lawyer, a fireman. Then you get into high school. You work hard for four years to get into a good college. Where all your hopes and dreams will be realized. You pick a major and plan your whole life accordingly.

So what happens when things don't go the way you plan?

I guess you start all over.

i have this obsession with owls right now.

i'm not kidding you.

most of you are probably wondering why i would like owls, seeing as how i hate...no loathe...birds.

well i don't think owls are on the same level as other birds and it's also possible that birds are growing on me. not like dirty birds like pigeons and crows but beautiful ones like owls, eagles and the sorts.

nonetheless here are the owls.

so i'm not too fond of winter sports.

love watching them but not a fan of partaking in them.

let's recall when i went skiing this past april and barely made it up the mountain only to get to the top to start dry heaving and had to be taken down by the emt on his gurney sled...really attractive throwing up off the side of it too!

so needless to say i love the snow but we don't always do well together.

well i was talked in to sledding this last weekend and oh boy! i ended up running into a tree stump thigh first...it was pitiful.

so here's my nasty bruise...this is actually a good pic because it did turn black for about three days!

resolutions

i usually don't make resolutions but this year i've decided to write them down and make myself accountable!

these are my top ten resolutions...

1. train for a 5k. aka work out more!

2. blog more consistently.

3. write to people more often. {including thank you notes!}

4. keep in better touch with friends and fam who are not near.

5. stop biting my nails.

6. stop eating out so much.

7. read more.

8. fight less :)

9. be more helpful.

10. give thanks and praise more often!

i have a feeling this year is going to be huge! so many things are changing and it just feels like a fun ride is ahead!

1. 2010 Winter Olympics!!!!

2. Jennifer's wedding.

3. Travs graduation from the MBA program.

4. Sarah's wedding.

5. Endless possibilities for a career and possibly moving...scary!

I know there's probably tons more to come and I'm just so excited for this year!

1. Travis moved back to Kentucky in January.

2. I graduated from UK!

3. Got my first post grad job.

4. Dallas turned 1.

5. Moved to Louisville.

6. Spent a great Thanksgiving in Dallas.

7. Spent a great 4th of July in Ludington, MI.

8. Got to spend Christmas at Dad's with the whole fam; including Sharon and Kalli!

9. Started blogging.

10. Spent NYE with Travis for the first year since we've been dating!

what an amazing year...i can't wait to see what 2010 has in store!
