here's a new one. it'll be on etsy later this weekend. i'm pretty sure my first attempt at using real jewelry parts (eye pins, head pins, chains and beads!) was a good one! i love this necklace and can't wait to make more!

holy spinach!

so i've had fresh spinach before in salads and pastas but i'm not made of money and don't ever eat enough to make a big bag of it worth it so i decided to buy some frozen spinach.

i've had it in the freezer for a couple weeks now and finally pulled it out tonight determined to make a dish with plenty of the green stuff.

what i came up with was pasta with lots of veggies!

i used my carba nada pasta along with spinach, onions, red peppers, corn, garlic and some prego spaghetti sauce. then i topped it all off with some garlic, crushes red pepper and parm.

it was so good that i gobbled it all up before i could snap a pick for you! oops. but i will tell you that the whole thing was 7 ww points!!!!! and it was so filling that i'm still full and probably will be all night.

but don't think that will stop me from having dessert! hey, i've got to finish my points for the day...think i'll have some of these babies...

here's some recent happenings of the girls...

lilly loves to read. she especially loves to pull off mommy's magazines off the end table and read up on dinner recipes and potty training tips!

liv started dance class at the little gym two weeks ago. she loves it and it's so fun to watch her learn all about tap and ballet. it's also really loud with those tap shoes! :)

and after her first dance class, she ended up like this at home!

we headed on over to the children's museum last week. lilly hates the cowboy hats!

but the both love the thomas the train toys!

and lilly loves those books. told ya!

lately liv has been all about the computer. at home. at the museum. everywhere! and she's really good at it too.

today is my dad's 44th birthday!

and while i won't be there to celebrate today, i will be there saturday (which also happens to be my birthday!). i'm so lucky that i live close enough to see the fam fairly often and to help celebrate such special occasions!

pops, you're the greatest dad in the whole world and i'm so lucky to call you mine.

so i started playing around with making new fabric flowers.

it's like two in one.

whimsy bits: chain necklace

this was an easy make. i made it for barclay but i'm sooo making one for myself too.

i got this great big 'ol bag of ribbon at hobby lobby for 1.99 plus 40% off (so that's only $1.20 my friends!)

it's hard to tell (because all my pics are weak and i need good camera. any volunteers?!) but the ribbon is a neon green, and awesome.

you just weave in and out until you get to the end and use the ends to tie a pretty bow. barclay wanted hers just like this but it would be so easy to add flowers to these.

i followed a tutorial from little miss mama and made quite a few of these beauties!

these are by far my fav thing i've made.

this was a birthday present for holly. i think she loved it! i sure do.

close up. it's chambray and will go with just about anything.

this fabric is so me! it's got bright colors and i put it on pink rope-like ribbon.
