Six months

Happy Six Months Walker!!!

At six months Walker is

  • 19 pounds 13 ounces with all his clothes and a wet diaper. Why they weighed him like that at the doctors office, I have no idea. I'm guessing he's closer to the 19 pound mark.
  • 28.5 inches long.
  • Taking five bottles of six ounces a day and has two "meals" a day. Breakfast consists of oatmeal and a fruit and dinner is a veggie and a fruit and some sort of grain. He really likes bread and tortillas!
  • Wearing size 2 diapers during the day and size three at night but once the diapers are gone in about a month we will be cloth diapering full time!!! Can't wait.
  • Wearing mostly 3-6 month onesies and shirts and 6-9 month pants simply for length. This kid grew almost three inches in two months...crazy!
  • Not in a swaddle anymore, Praise Jesus! We just quit cold turkey and went to sleep sacks and he seems to love them just as much. He also weaned himself of the rock-n-play this month and now sleeps completely flat on his back in his pack-n-play.
  • Sleeping ok. Goes down between 7 and 8 most nights and wakes up around 5 or 6 to eat and then back to sleep until 8 or 9.

During his sixth month he...
  • Started rolling all over.
  • Started sliding on his belly all over the hardwoods.
  • Found his voice and screams. All. The. Time.
  • Met his aunt Brookie!
  • Tasted all kinds of new food. Tomatoes, potatoes, pickles, tortillas and bread, among others.
  • Started jumping or bouncing all the time and on anyone's lap.
  • Celebrated his first Halloween.
  • Started sitting for several minutes unassisted.
  • Went to his first pumpkin patch.

Walker loves...
  • Reading. We read all the time!
  • Petting Dallas. And getting kisses in the face! And any dog he sees. He loves to watch their tails wag.
  • Making funny noises with daddy.
  • "Talking" to anyone who will listen.
  • Being outside and our daily walks.
  • Looking at yourself in the mirror.
  • Seeing other babies. He specially likes baby Grace from gym class!
  • The Itsy Bitsy Spider, it's your favorite song.
  • Rubbing momma's face as you eat or fall asleep.

Walker,

Oh sweet little boy. This last month was another good one. Although, they all seem to be good with you! You have the best little personality and we see it coming out more and more these days. You've found your voice and don't mind letting us hear it 😉. You did so many firsts this month with food and Halloween and some skills. I think you're also starting to enjoy our early morning cuddles as much as me these days. I can't imagine you getting any more cute or fun but I know it's all just starting. Happy half birthday to you Dub. We can't imagine our life without you!

Love,
Momma

Five months

Happy Five Months Walker!!!

At five months Walker is...
  • Somewhere between 16 and 17 pounds.
  • I'm guessing close to 26.5 inches.
  • Taking five to six bottles and around 28 to 30 ounces a day. I guess last month was a growth spurt month because he's not eating quite that much anymore but he's also getting a couple tablespoons if oatmeal a day to help with the reflux so it could be that too.
  • Wearing size 2 diapers
  • Wearing some 0-3 month but mostly 3-6 month clothing and a few 6-9 month stuff. Baby sizing is just as weird as women sizing!
  • Still being swaddled at night but most times with only one arm in. We are slowly breaking the habit!
  • Sleeping pretty well most nights. Getting somewhere around 10-11 hours. I think we missed the 4 month sleep regression (knock on wood!).
  • Has rolled a few times from back to belly and belly to back.
  • Sitting up with by himself for around 20 seconds!

During his fifth month he...
  • Daddy moved up to Dallas with Dallas. Say that ten times fast!
  • Packed up our place in San Antonio.
  • Spent some time in Dripping Springs at aunt Myra and uncle Lew's house.
  • Got his head under water in the pool.
  • Started using the highchair for his oatmeal.
  • Began a baby gym class at My Gym.
  • Went to the sate fair and met your aunt Meg and uncle Killian for the first time!

Walker loves...
  • Reading. We read all the time!
  • Petting Dallas. And getting kisses in the face!
  • Making funny noises with daddy.
  • "Talking" to anyone who will listen.
  • Being outside and our daily walks.
  • Looking at yourself in the mirror.
  • Seeing other babies.
  • Your new fav show is Henry Hugglemonster. It's a cute little shoe on Disney about a family of monsters and you think they're hilarious!
  • Rubbing momma's face as you eat or fall asleep.

Walker,

This month has been so fun for our little family. While we are still not all under one roof, at least daddy and Dallas are in the same city! We have spent a lot of time going back and forth between the grandparents houses and you love to spend time with your grandparents. You also love to watch Dallas run around and act crazy. I think y'all will be best buds as you grow up. You've really started to show your personality this month and you definitely have your own likes and dislikes. You loved the state fair and got to see a ton of animals and pet a few. You met Big Tex and got a small taste of powdered sugar from a funnel cake! Dad wasn't thrilled about that one, haha! You are such a great eater and sleeper (please stay that way!) and you love to play, play, play. You're such a happy boy. People always comment on how laid back and easy going you are and it's true. I know you didn't get that from me! This next month should be so much fun. Holiday season is apon us and I know these next three months will fly by. I'm trying to soak it all in and snuggle and kiss you and love you as much as possible. Sometimes I wish time would just stop so I can keep you this little forever but each month really does get better and better!

Love,
Momma

Four months

Happy Four Months Walker!!!

At four months Walker is...
  • 14 pounds 14 ounces.
  • 26 inches.
  • Taking six bottles a day and eating between 30 and 34 ounces. He also changed nipple sizes on his bottles because level one was just too slow for this little piggy!
  • Wearing size 2 diapers
  • Wearing some 0-3 month but mostly 3-6 month clothing.
  • Still being swaddled at night. Will he ever stop?!
  • After so much traveling in August we had some rough nights but we are back to sleeping through the night.
  • Trying very hard to roll from tummy to back.
  • Sitting up with assistance very well.
On the plane to Louisville.

During his fourth month he...
  • Went on his first plane ride to visit family in Kentucky.
  • Met lots of family and friends he'd never seen.
  • Went to a birthday party, a going a way party and a welcome party. Become a party animal!
  • Started laughing at Grandmommy's house.
  • Started using her exersaucer and jumperoo.
  • Began to love his bumbo seat.

Walker loves...
  • Reading. We read all the time!
  • Petting Dallas. And getting kisses in the face!
  • Making funny noises with daddy.
  • "Talking" to anyone who will listen.
  • Being outside.
  • Seeing other babies.
  • Veggie Tales and Baby Einstein. Yes, we've let him watch some tv because it instantly quiets and calms him down. At least it's somewhat educational and has a good lesson. Right?!

Walker,

Buddy, I cannot believe you are already four months old. Mommy cried a little when she had to pack away some clothes today. But I love the stage you're in. You are always a happy boy and you love to listen to people talk. You're starting to chime in with your own opinions now and I love to listen to you. Your daddy and I are so in love with you and we are constantly asking each other how we got so lucky getting you as our son. You are truly a gift from God. This next month should be a good one. Daddy is finally moving to Dallas to be with us and we will be on the search for our first home just the three of us. Actually four, we can't for get dalpal! You love your puppy so much and you just think he's hilarious. I can't wait to see your friendship bloom as you get older. We love to watch you grow but don't grow up too fast, ok.

Love you bundles W,
Momma

Daddy's Day

Yesterday was T's first father's day.

I'm sure it wasn't exactly what he wanted.

There was no nap.
No expensive meal.
No extravagant gift.

But there was time with his wife and son who love him very much.

And so, I'm sure if you ask him, it was perfect!

T,

Thank you for being such an amazing husband and father (to both boys!!!), for working hard so I can stay home with W, and for making life so much fun,

We love you,
A, W and D
