friday's fabulousness

i've only got one today.

this baby...

trav and i are investing in a juicer today. wanna know why?

well, i'll tell you. but you're probably going to think we're nuts. just wanted to put that out there!

it all started a couple nights ago when we watched this movie.

we've both been feeling a little tired, sluggish and just generally run down. and while we don't have anything near the debilitating diseases this guy has, we do have a few issues; skin issues, arthritis in my ankles and we'd really just like to recharge.

after researching this online and reading A LOT about juice fasting, actually we're going to call it a body reboot, this is what we have decided to do...

only fruits, vegetables and water for 7 days. we'll be starting saturday morning bright and early!
we'll buy all our food from the local farmer's market saturday morning. (putting our money in to the local economy. another plus!!!)
we won't just drink juice for every meal.
we'll be eating raw or cooked (with no additives) fruits and veggies, blending them or juicing them.
we'll still be exercising regularly.
we will probably eat or drink 5 to 6 times a day instead of the normal 3. although, we don't want to stuff ourselves so we'll be sensitive to over eating/drinking.
we'll weigh in before and after the 7 days.
i'll be blogging every day during the reboot to let you know how it's going and how we're feeling.

we hope to reboot our bodies and retrain our taste buds and brains to enjoy the rich nutrients from natural foods.
basically we'll be going vegan for a whole week!

i can't wait to get started and even though i know it's going to be difficult, i'm hoping that we can learn more about the food we eat and how it makes us feel and how it fuels our body. this isn't about weight lose. it's about eating what's good and right, feeling better and making a lifestyle change.

i hope you'll follow along for the whole 7 days.

wish us luck!

p.s. i'm in no way saying you should do this. i am not a registered dietician. we will not be doing this for a prolonged amount of time and are not putting ourselves in any danger. we have no serious health problems that would get worse from doing this. it's simply an experiment that we're willing to try, that's it. we have not been brainwashed!
that's for all my grandmas, whom i'm sure will worry that i've truly lost it :)

WW what?

yes, yes, the rumors are true. i did attend a WWE event. with trav (it was his new job celebration event). and it wasn't that bad. i might even say it was ok? i might even go to another one?

now before you call the looney tunes to come and get me, let me explain myself!

there were a ton of people there. and it really is a show of some sort.

there was this super cute kid in front of us who kept getting sooooo excited!

there were lights and loud music. announcers and "famous" people. (of whom i did not recognize but t insisted they were famous. whatevs.)

the fights aren't really fights. more like choreographed dance. or choreographed fight. something like that.

see this cute kid again. actually all the kids were pretty cute. except for the ones that tried to steal our seats. heathens.

my fav part of the night? watching all the dads with their little boys. it was so cute to see them hold them up to see over the crowd, buy them tons of crappy t-shirts and trinkets, and hoot and hollar along with them. trav said he would for sure take our son (if we ever cross that scary road) and i think i would be ok with that!

this was the at the end of the night and it was late and i was ready to go home and get in bed (old lady much?) but i did have a great time and the most important thing was being with trav!

update: dalpal

dallas and i had an impromptu photo shoot the other night while trav was a miejer getting us a new fan so we wouldn't die (at 11:30 pm, no less!).

don't mind my no make-up, breaking out like a 13 year old boy face, please and thank you!

cutest face ever!

taking up the whole bed, as usual.

mom, stop. seriously.

best little muffin in the whole world. i wouldn't trade this dog for anything, duh.

mini vacay

here's some pics from our mini vacation to the lake this past weekend.

driving contest between trav and i. who's better? me, duh. actually travis has much more experience driving boats, with his time at disney and all. don't brag about ok, t.

great view

fishing...didn't catch anything but i'm ok with that since i hate the sight of fish.

hey hey!

love the lake!

i think someone was getting a little delirious at this point on the way home. i'm not even going to attempt to explain this one!

we had a great, easy and relaxing weekend. hopefully we'll go again at least once before summer is officially over. although, i wouldn't mind if summer, or rather the heat, was officially over!

not here

do you ever just feel not here? not in a physical sense but more mentally.

lately i'm just not feeling here.

i can't come up with anything creative.

i can't come up with blog topics.

i can't sew anything.

i can't craft anything.

i can't cook anything new.

i can't even clean the house or do laundry. seriously, travis is did it all!

it's as if i'm just not here.

does this ever happen to anyone?

i'd like to think that maybe i'm just burnt out but that's impossible because i haven't really done a lot. i really hope it doesn't mean i'm getting sick. i'd hate that. plus i don't really feel bad. just blah.

i'm hoping this weekend will change all that. i have two whole nights of alone time to craft, sew, write, clean, shop, etc. i'm praying that my creativity will overflow and i'll be a mad woman getting stuff done!

sorry for the uncreative blog post today. hopefully things will start to go back to normal. until then, feel free to stop reading!

haha, no don't do that!

update: liv + lilly

sorry i don't have a lot of new pics of the girls. i've been so bad about taking pics lately...but i did want to jot down some convos i've been having with liv. she's so funny and doesn't even try to be. a girl after my own heart! we can just be funny together. in fact i'm going to print this quote out and frame it for part of her christmas present this year! ha :) just kidding holly!

here's liv's look at me face!

a couple months ago we were talking about her fish and his super cool fish tank. she told me that he has a mermaid in there to keep him company. i said, "is it a mermaid or a merman?". she looked at me absolutely serious as can be and said, "achely, of course it's a girl merMAID. it cannot be a merman because they sleep together and boys don't sleep together. only boys and girls and girls and girls sleep together." of course i agreed with the four year old but in my mind i was thinking "oh, the things you'll learn one day!".

yesterday we had this conversation...
liv is yawning.
i ask, "are you tired liv?"
"yes i really am." she says
i say, "did you not get enough sleep last night?"
"no i slept fine. i'm just tired."
"why is that, buddy?"
"well, i work too hard. i need a vacation."
i said, "a vacation? i was under the impression that you're always on vacation. when did you get a job?"
"achely, i work hard everyday."
"oh", i say, "i thought that was playing. my fault for assuming."
"it's ok." she says, "i just need a break from life."

seriously, where does she come up with this stuff? super funny kiddo i watch! and of course i love it and egg her on.

in other liv/lilly news, we've been busy playing. it's so hot out that we don't do much outside. we try to walk every morning before it gets too bad. liv always wants to go in the wagon so i end up pulling about 70 pounds a mile or so and sweat my tush off. then when we get back home she tells me i stink. at least she's honest, right?

i can't leave you without talking about the destructor...aka, lilly.
yes her nickname is the destructor because she loves to destroy anything. baby dolls, coloring projects, books, building blocks, small chinese towns like godzilla. she's all over the place. the other day i caught her hoarding all the dog toys in one of the dog crates eating her snack and drinking her juice. jake (the dog) tried to get said toys and she refused him. meanie.
she's also very much into saying "no". all the time, that kid.

this was lilly's first time wearing her hair up. i could die just looking at those pigtails! too cute.

today we were at dance class and i told her it was time to go. she said no, of course. when i went to pick her up she started running from me screaming, no, no, no, no. as if i were a stranger trying to kid nap her. touche, lilly, touche. no one wants to be labeled as a baby snatcher. so the only obvious thing to do was let her continue to climb all over the gym equipment until she was ready to leave. clearly.

and when i went to wake her from her nap today she did it again. i walk in the door very slowly to see if she's up yet. she took one look at me and said, "NO.". i feel your pain every morning when the alarm goes off and trav jumps to his feet and says, "good morning. gym time baby!". um, "NO." but alas, we must all get up, so just like travis scoops me up like a baby and gets me all ready for the gym, i too scooped her up and got her ready for our afternoon play time.

the life of a nanny.
i love it!
